Hyperhidrosis – excessive sweating

Botox Muscle relaxants for treating excessive sweating

Excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis) can be embarrassing and inconvenient. Superficial injections of Botox into the skin of the underarms are an effective treatment that gives an almost immediate solution to this problem. Each treatment can last for 3 to 6 months, and if treatments are given regularly, the results can be maintained for much longer periods.

Does it hurt?

There should be minimal pain involved as the needles are so fine and such small quantities are used. There may be some itching immediately after treatment, but you can go straight back to work or your normal routine afterwards.

Am I suitable?

Botox treatments are safe and are suitable for most individuals. It is essential that your underarms are shaved, and you must not use any deodorants or antiperspirants for 24 hours before the procedure

Is it safe?

Yes. All of these treatments are undertaken by our fully trained cosmetic doctors. Botulinum has an excellent safety record and is used in much higher doses to treat certain medical conditions without there being any significant side effects.

What happens after the treatment?

Botox takes 3-10 days before results become visible. The results will typically last for 3 months but could be longer. We offer a 2-week free follow-up appointment so our doctor can check that optimum results have been reached.
